Navigating the post-apocalyptic terrain of Dam Battlegrounds in Arc Raiders often presents players with hidden objectives that require careful exploration. One of the key early-game missions assigned by Celeste, titled Straight Record, tasks players with locating an old EMP trap and shutting it down permanently. Completing this objective provides essential upgrade materials while expanding your understanding of the northern sector of the map.
Finding Victory Ridge and the EMP Device
To begin the search, deploy into the Dam Battlegrounds map and head toward the far northern border. Victory Ridge is nestled in the area between the West Broken Bridge and the Hydroponic Dome Complex. Search the open clearing in this zone to spot a tall, thin pole wrapped with wiring, which serves as the old EMP trap.
Locating the Three Power Switches
Before you can power down the main device, you must locate and toggle three yellow power switches scattered around the ridge. The first switch sits directly north on a rocky elevated ridge overlooking the device. The second switch is hidden on the upper floor of a ruined red building to the east, requiring a quick climb up broken debris.
Disabling the Device and Completing the Quest
For the third switch, travel south from the trap toward the Hydroponic Dome trail and follow the trailing power cable on the ground. Once the final yellow box is turned off, return to the main antenna pole and interact with its panel one last time to complete the task. Mercenaries do not need to successfully extract to register quest completion, making it safe to attempt with basic gear.
